Table of Contents
I’m not sure if anybody will find this useful, but every holiday season I’m wondering which restaurants are operating during the festive season. So I decided to check with a few regular stores around Subang and compile a list that might be handy. The list ended up a little longer than I expected, but I’ll try to make it easier to read in the future.
Restaurants and cafe
Kebaabish
One of our sponsors supporting our SubangFood community in December. Operating hours are the same during the holidays. Use the promo SUBANGFOOD when ordering to get 15% off.
Nice and comfortable restaurant environment for family gatherings.
Habibii
One of our sponsors supporting our SubangFood community in December. Operating hours are the same during the holidays. Use the promo code SUBANGFOOD when ordering to get a free Arabic mint tea.
Smokehouse BBQ & Grill
One of our sponsors supporting our SubangFood community in December. Operating hours are the same during the holidays.
Good Friends Cafe
One of our sponsors supporting our SubangFood community in December. Operating hours are the same during the holidays.
Big Daddy Taipan

- 26th – 12AM till 12AM
- 30th Dec to 1st Jan – 1PM till late.
- Last call is around 10:30PM. They also have a kitchen break time between 3-5pm, but drinks are available.
The Burg SS15
They’re operating as usual. Closed on Mondays (which is also Christmas Day). I recently visited this place and am quite fond of it.

Coffee spots to catch up and chill
Jing’s Specialty Coffee in USJ 4
Located directly above Apollos kopitiam. Hours are still the same. They’re closed on Wednesdays.
Jing’s has been kind enough to be support our community this December. So if you mention the promo code SUBANGFOOD when you visit, you’ll get 10% off many of their popular drinks.
YODmilk
Subang Jaya’s current hotspot for tasty bagels. He also serves good coffee and has just introduced his matcha latte series. Operation hours are still normal, and he’s closed on Sundays.
The Crackpots Coffee Roaster in USJ 1
Popular local coffee roaster, which recently hosted the annual Coffee Exchange party, will be closed on the 25th. Aside from that, they’re operating as usual from Monday to Saturday.
Our other local Subang Jaya coffee roaster (Supernormal Coffee Roasters) only has good things to say about The Crackpots.
Location on Google Maps. Some pictures of my visit are here.

Other eats
Dosa
Since Dosa has been so popular with our community lately, do take note that they’re operating from 09:30AM to 1PM on the 24th. They’ll be taking a well-deserved break from the 25th Dec till the 1st of Jan. Business will resume on the 2nd of Jan.
Le Deli
I like this place because it offers premium deli meat that’s easily accessible in our neighbourhood. I don’t have to drive to a mall and deal with parking.
I have some thoughts to grab some deli meat from here and pair it up with some home baked sourdough from SS17.
Kaithi Biryani
They’re open every day except for Mondays and Tuesdays. There is a Christmas menu of grilled lamb shoulder biryani on the 23rd and 24th.
Nasi Lemak Wild Boar Subang Jaya
Quietly popular in SS14. It’s closed on the 24th and 25th, and 31st of Dec. I’d suggest you Whatsapp him before going.
AW Chicken Rice
They’re closed on 24th and 25th of Dec. Back on the 26th.
Feedback is always welcome
I hope this list helps. I was making out it to be a useful list for the holidays, but if it feels too much like an advertisement, let me know how you feel.
Feel free to [send me any feedback](mailto:matt@subangfood.com) (negative or positive) by replying to this email. I’m always happy to listen and see where I can improve.
I’ll probably send out one more email in 2023 to wrap up the year and look forward to 2024. In the meantime, happy holidays!
Cheers,
Matt from SubangFood
