I always look out for unique places to visit or recommend in Subang, and Shimokita Space will definitely fit the bill.
It’s actually a thrift store that sells pre-loved vintage clothing, but that’s part of what makes it interesting. Once you realise where it is, it’s hard to miss.
Walk up the dimly-lit staircase and you’ll be rewarded with a retro-inspired space that takes you back in time.
You’re even able to play with some of the vintage video game consoles here, and I got to know know customers Koji and Hanzo who were playing a Robocop game from my childhood.
Food
Walking here in the hot sun really made me appreciate the Bata Biru (Butterbeer) drink, which is a nice change from the usual ice lattes that you’ll drink at a cafe.
The prices for the classic beef smashburgers are affordable and the burgers are tasty too. I’d visit again to try the other burgers.
The use of giant-sized playing cards as your order number while you wait to be served is cute and fun.

Retro and high school vibes. If you’re a fan of nostalgia and love to take photos, this is place is perfect.
It’s definitely designed for the student demographic, and the operation hours of 3PM to 11PM reflects that too. Visit with the correct expectations, and you won’t be disappointed.
Definitely a unique cafe and thrift store to visit.

Shimokita Space is directly opposite the Hong Leong bank in Subang Square, though if you aren’t paying attention, you’ll walk past the entrance without a second glance, so pay attention.
